Kaiyan Dran

Dran was born in a small Starfleet outpost at the edges of Bajoran space. Being born to a Bajoran mother and a human starfleet father has brought some unique challenges when it comes to defining herself. As expected, however, this also means that she was born with a very high sense of duty and service to others, which has led her to seek a career in Starfleet. She is a very driven and practical person, which has made her somewhat of a natural born engineer. She is far from being an engineering genius, but she has a natural talent to quickly figure out how things work. That combined with a love for taking things apart and building them back up again made Engineering her natural choice at the academy.
