Jamming out to music in her shared bunk with Miller, she was so pumped! Although this was just temporary from the academy, she was looking forward to seeing the senior officers of the task force interact with each other. Who knows, maybe even find her new CO there. Packing the last of her stuff up in a suitcase, a wrap to go around her bathing suit, she banged on the door of the head…
“C’mon Miller! You drown in there?” Peacegrove got excited.
“Im here, Im here!”, said Eliana.
She opened the door, and looked at Aiyana. Her eyes opening wide.
“Looking good here! I still cannot decide what swimsuit to take. I was thinking the polka dot one, or maybe this one piece,” said Eliana while looking at the mirror.
“Lose the polka dot one. I would go with the one piece. Looks fiery, you can even borrow one of my throws!” Aiyana said gushing over Eilana, like she was on Project Runway, and she was Tim Gunn. “I think if you wear this and leave you hair down, ohhhhh girl, YAS!”
Aiyana took a step back and did the photo frame of taking a picture.
“How do I look?” said Eliana.
“Now we need to find something for you to wear. What do you have in that closet?” said Eliana in a cheerful voice.
She looked over to Aiyana’s closet, and noticed a bunch of swimsuits; there were too many to decide on.
“Oh girl, I’m already packed.” Aiyana held up her suitcase. “See!” Aiyana was getting antsy and wanted to get going. “I think we are ready.”
This was Peacegrove’s first leave, and she was excited. She had only hoped it would all go well. Heading out the door with her Roommate in tow, they headed for the nearest Airlock on to Starbase 93. As they crossed the gangplank the immensity of the Starbase really hit her. She grabbed her friends hand and ran across.
Arriving at the check in, she presented her information to the logistics and entry officer and she was nodded through. She was looking at the Promenade and how busy it was, it would be easy to get lost amongst the crews intermingling here.
Eliana followed Aiayana into the grand promenade, the immense size of this place was something else, to be honest. There were a multitude of people running around the station. It looked like a mini city. Eliana turned her head to face Ayiana.
“Where is the holodeck?” asked Eliana
“The holodeck is a couple of decks down, this way. Follow me!” Ayiana took her friend in tow, listening attentively and following the swarms of people to what seemed to be the only turbolift active.
She nodded, “When we get there, I just want to sit on the virtual beach and do nothing! What are you planning to do girl?”
“Same.” Ayiana let out an exaggerated sigh. “Learning the ways of a starship is very taxing, especially straight out of the academy. I don’t regret anything, but I am looking forward to it.”
The turbolift attendant ushered them in and checked to make sure everyone was going to Holodeck 1. The doors opened and everything was moving along nicely.
“I admire the work that the station put behind this and inviting the whole task force to come here. It would be quite a trek to head to Risa on our own.” Ayiana mentioned before stepping into the holodeck.
As they entered the holodeck, the cold, metal look of the station gave way to a sandy beach with a fantastic sun shining down. “Let’s go, girl!” said Eliana.
They ran on the sand, the warmth of the sun touching the soles of her feet. “I think this is the spot” said Eliana.
