Kannina is assigned to the secondary craft maintenance on the USS Denver. As a natural progression, she uptrained to be a medic as needed.
She is a veteran mechanic and medic now on her second 6-year reenlistment, she agreed to stay on after promotion to Petty Officer 1st class (e-6)

Personality
Kannina is easygoing and good-natured. She does not suffer fools well. She has zero issues speaking her mind. The mix of societies instilled a sense of taking people one at time, as they come. Fake facades and lying is an easy way to get on her bad side.
Learning the toolbox at an early age, Kannina was a natural with tools. While quite a few land vehicles met their demise during the learning process, the tools became natural extensions of themselves in her hand, the skills acquired helped to push her to a higher level of mastery in things mechanical or electronic.
Hobbies include Classic films, mountain biking, and knitting/sewing.
History
Being the product of a hybrid arrangement presented the usual problems growing up. While her family, most of it, accepted her openly, she was smart enough to see the racial implications of an impromptu arrangement. Her Betazoid father insisted on equal time in both societies until she was old enough to make up her own mind. It was something that while she was glad to be taught the lesson, it could have ben done with less pain on her pschye.
Society was more open in the Denobulan society than in her Betazoid heritage. While nice to her face, there were whispers and rumors she heard openly and behind her back.
Therefore, as soon as she could Kannina joined Starfleet fresh out of graduation from schooling at 18.
