Bravo Fleet
Summary
Alayna Bertrand has graduated early from Starfleet Academy and is stepping aboard one of the largest vessels in Starfleet.
Appearance
Her hair was always braided, which was an element of her culture that her family has retained. Alayna was tall at 5’10 and built. She grew up in a family of athletes practicing soccer whenever the weather and a ball were in play. When she’s not painting, she is running. Exercise and health are two of the axioms she lives by.
Personality
She is quiet, and thoughtful. She lives in her head, and thinks through everything. She spends much of her time learning as many languages and their construction as possible – this leads to her becoming a bit of a hermit. Her ability to make friends is limited, and coming straight out of the academy.
Bertrand is creative. She likes to paint in her off time and continues to develop her skill.
History
Alayna’s family is originally from French Guiana in South America. They moved to France in 2300.
Alayna Bertrand was born in Tours, France in 2380. She lived an average life with a large family. She had three older sisters, all engineers in Starfleet. A chance assignment in middle school drew her attention to language and communications, which drew her interest and love of the subject even further.
She continued to study the subject in high school and was naturally inclined to seek out Starfleet Academy as a possibility. Her scores were strong and she was accepted in 2398. Her academy years were marked with intense studying and focused work. She made a few friends during her time, but her primary focus was being the best in her class.
She worked extra hours during breaks, accelerating her class schedules to graduate as early as possible. Due to the events of Frontier Day, this was accepted practice for students – they were still required to complete all coursework to the level expected. She graduated in February of 2402.
Her first assignment was Chief Communications Officer on the USS Zephyr where she was given the rank of Ensign.
