Part of Bravo Fleet: Labyrinth

USS Arondight: One of Our Starbases is Missing

After being catapulted through Underspace along with Olympia Station, the Arondight must mount a daring rescue of their colleagues stranded on an ocean world without violating the Prime Directive.

Mission Description

Mere weeks into Captain Blake Bennett’s tenure commanding the Arondight, his ship is swept through Underspace along with Olympia Station itself deep into Breen space. While Arondight was kept safe close to the station, the scout Buran was thrown ahead and landed deep in the planetary ocean of Gamma Aquarii III, a world covered almost entirely with water and home to a pre-warp civilization of sapient cetaceans. Arondight must rescue Buran and retrieve a cadre of extremely advanced probes without making its presence known to the Gamma Aquarians and without attracting the attention of the Breen, all before the Underspace portal that brought Olympia into enemy territory collapses.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Commanders Costa and Hawthorne navigate a new assignment alongside their budding relationship.

8. Buran Down

USS Arondight: One of Our Starbases is Missing

Though a naturally optimistic person, Paulo Costa had a hard time coming up with an explanation for the explosion Hawthorne had detected that didn’t stem from the violent destruction of the Buran. USS Arondight: One of Our Starbases is Missing

On a Reliant-class starship, the atmosphere in every compartment was fully cycled through the ship’s filters every sixty seconds, whether it was the most miniature computer network trunk or the main shuttlebay. It wasn’t quite as aggressive as the filtration systems aboard a hospital ship, but, [...]

6. Warp Speed Interlude

USS Arondight: One of Our Starbases is Missing

As the shuttle raced along at warp seven—a phenomenal rate of speed for anything that small—Paulo Costa locked in the autopilot while Tristan Hawthorne continued to calibrate the recon sensor pallet Olympia Station had lent them for the journey. The sensors on a type-12 shuttle were already [...]

5. Beyond Help

USS Arondight: One of Our Starbases is Missing

The moment it entered the subspace corridor, Olympia Station had set the record for the fastest speed ever recorded by a Federation space station. Considering its design speed was to be, well, stationary, the problem the station’s crew and the crew of the Arondight now faced was how to make [...]
