Beep… beep…beep…beep…beep…
The haze went away, Helen blinked again, the bridge was black, few consoles were lit up and the crew… her crew.
“Report!” She called out.
“They are gone Captain,” came the solid voice of Lt. T’mal.
She got to her feet, and steadied herself. She looked around the bridge and several of her officers started to come to their feet, she turned to engineering, she saw Imal steadying herself.
“You okay Commander?” Helen asked the Bajoran at the engineering station.
“I’ve been through worse, Captain Delaney. Engines are down, damage reports flowing in from all decks. Engineering took the brunt. Permission to leave the bridge?” Imal said quickly.
“Go, get medical and security with you.” She ordered.
“Security?” came the voice of her Security Chief, Sylvain Lacroix. His hair, which is usually molded onto his head, was all over the place.
“I need you here Sylvain.” the captain paused, she looked towards the helm, where her first officer and FCO was stationed.
The station was held on by the wires, the bodies of her First Officer and FCO were strewn like ragdolls. She already knew, but tapped her combadge as her eyes swelled, “Medical to bridge.”
The Ferengi Ops Chief and the Security Chief rushed to their sides attempting some kind of Triage, something to stabilize them from the hit.
“This is Sickbay, we are running all over the ship. We will get there soon!” came an unfamiliar voice.
“Where is Dr. Tiern?” the Captain asked.
“She is Missing Ma’am.” the voice was shakey at best.
“Who am I talking to?”
“Nurse Dewa.” he said.
“You will be fine. I will have some help come and see you.” The captain said as the doors opened to the bridge. A Physician Appeared.
“Someone order a Doctor?” asked the trill with a Phaser, Medpack and a Tricorder in hand.
“Tris!” came the voice of the Ops Chief.
“Ah, Doctor Tris, thanks for being here, I need you.” the Captain Said.
“You could say that.” The Trill went to the Captain first…
“No, them.” she said motioning to the deceased.
Running her tricorder over them, she nodded, “Sorry.” she said solemnly. “Now, you.” she said lifting her tricorder after pressing a few buttons to reset it.
“Tend to the….” the Captain attempted to Object.
“You are the Captain with no first officer, you are the priority in my eyes.” Meila placed her hand on her holster, “I’m not afraid to knock you out.”
The Captain looked at Meila, funny thing was, as much as other medical officers tried to be stern with Helen, she knew Meila would shoot her. “Fine, you mad scientist.”
“I’ve been called worse, by higher ranks, so, I’ll take it.” Meila said running her scans, “Fractured Scapula, Clavicle and your Humerus is holding on by tissue. Get down to sickbay.”
“Ma’am we are getting reports from… ” Talat, the Operations Chief said.
“Just give me some pain killers… we have to continue to Dreon.” the captain said.
“I don’t think that is possible, Engineering is gutted according to the initial reports.”
She turned over to Lacroix, “Thoughts?”
“Me? What? Oh… uhm, I think we should head to the nearest starbase and get repaired. But that’s just me.” Sylvain suggested.
“You’re my number one now Sylvain, make it so.” The captain said with her rush of adrenaline finally coming to an end, and she collapsed on the bridge.
